BEA Systems’ SVP and CIO Rhonda Hocker was elected chairman of Valaran’s board of directors. Hocker has served as a director of the Princeton, N.J.-based software provider since August 2004. (Hocker’s deputy CIO at BEA, Dale Slaughenhaupt, was selected for CIO’s Ones to Watch honor earlier this year.)
In other news of board appointments, one-time Microsoft CIO John Connors was named to the board of Certus Software. This is his second board appointment in two months, having been appointed to Jobster’s board of directors in July.
Biotech Business Week reported that Mark Boxer was appointed president and CEO of consumer-driven health plans, enterprise services and Medicare government business at WellPoint. During Boxer’s five-year tenure with WellPoint, he has served as executive vice president for strategy, enterprise operations and Medicare services; senior vice president electronic commerce; executive vice president and chief business development officer; and chief information officer.
