After just six months on the job as SVP and CIO of New Century Financial, Joseph Eckroth has been promoted to EVP and has been made COO of the Irvine, Calif.-based real estate investment trust’s mortgage business. Eckroth joined New Century in July 2005 after working for Mattel for five years.
Penn State University’s first and only CIO to date is set to retire this summer. Gary Augustson has led IT at the 24 campus university for the past 24 years.
Paul Roche wrote to let me know that he has been promoted to CIO of Network Services. He replaces Mike Hugos in that position and most recently served as Network Services’ director of business applications. Prior to joining Prospect, Ill.-based manufacturer, Roche worked for Infor in its wholesale distribution professional services group and for Extricity’s professional services group.
