Hilton Hotels officially promoted its SVP and CIO James (“Tim”) Harvey to EVP and CIO yesterday. A 25-year-veteran of the hospitality industry, Harvey joined Hilton when it acquired Promus Hotel Corp. in 1999. He is based in the hotel chain’s office in Memphis, Tenn. and reports to President and COO Matthew Hart.
After six months on the job as director of technology for Providence Health & Services’ Washington region, Jody Albright was promoted to CIO for the Western Washington and Montana region. Before joining Providence Health & Services in June 2005, Albright was a consultant with Point B Solutions Group, and she worked for Boeing as a senior IT manager.
Government Technology reported that Louis Gutierrez was appointed CIO of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Gutierrez assumes his new post on February 6, 2006. He replaces Beth Ann Pepoli, who was named acting CIO after Massachusetts CIO Peter Quinn resigned in December 2005. Pepoli will become Deputy CIO. Gutierrez currently serves as chief technology strategist at the Commonwealth Medicine Division at UMass Medical School. Yesterday, Computerworld published a good Q&A with Quinn about his decision to resign from state government.
Berkshire Health System, a community health care provider based in
William Blausey Jr. was officially promoted to CIO at $11 billion industrial manufacturer Eaton Corp. today. Blausey, a 20 year veteran of the Cleveland, Ohio-based company, most recently served as vice president of information technology for Eaton’s Fluid Power business. He held that position since 2001.
Robert Dutile joined US Technology Resources as its general manager of enterprise consulting in December. Dutile joins the technology and business process outsourcing service provider from KeyCorp, where he was responsible for building and operating the IT strategy, enterprise architecture and business technology and innovations functions as EVP of Key Technology Services from 1999 until his resignation in 2005.
Project Performance Corp. hired a former CIO of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) as its director of strategic development. David L. Zeppieri served as the TSA’s CIO beginning in July 2004. In his new role, he will also lead the consulting firm’s systems integration practice. He reports to Project Performance’s president and CEO, Michael Nigro.
