Jim Petit was promoted to vice president of business transformation at Diebold, which makes security systems, electronic voting systems and ATMs.  His promotion comes amidst a reorganization of the $2.6 billion-company’s global IT and business transformation functions designed to improve customer loyalty, supply chain efficiencies, forecasting, and simplify product offerings.  In his new role, Petit will be in charge of efforts to improve demand planning and to decrease the time it takes the company to obtain payments from customers.  Petit most recently served as director of business transformation and Oracle enterprise resource planning. John Crowther continues to serve as Diebold’s CIO.

Wayne Lambert joined Jewelry Television as its CIO.  He’s tasked with building an IT infrastructure that will support the network’s growth.  No stranger to broadcasting, Lambert most recently worked for Scripps as vice president of IS and CIO of its Shop at Home network.  He held that position for 14 years. 

Robert Kraft, The New York Times’ group director for enterprise services and chief technology architect for The New York times Company, was named to the newly created position of vice president of enterprise services.  Kraft, 48, has served as group director for enterprise services and chief technology architect since 2000. In his new role, he will oversee company-wide networks, data centers, server administration and server consolidation.
