The Washington Post today reports on the salaries and bonuses Fannie Mae executives will receive this year. Julie St. John (pictured above), Fannie’s EVP and CIO, will be paid a salary of $529,642. Her bonus will exceed $700,000. (For those of you who don’t remember, Fannie Mae got caught in an accounting scandal in 2004. The company was found to have manipulated its earnings going back to 1998.)
Yesterday, Delta Air Lines promoted Shirley Bridges to CIO and president and CEO of its subsidiary Delta Technology. She most recently served as Delta Technology’s COO, where she was responsible for overseeing business processes and maintenance and operation of systems. A sixteen year veteran of the airline, Bridges previously served as vice president of airline operations systems. In that capacity she was responsible for managing all software applications that run Delta’s maintenance, repair and overhaul facility, its operational control center, its flight attendant and pilot scheduling and communications systems, and its corporate compliance and safety reporting systems.
Bridges has some notable predecessors in this role. Among them:
Smart Office, an Australian publication for IT vendors serving the small the mid-sized business market, reports that high profile Aussie CIO Fiona Balfour will become CIO of Australian telecom Telstra. She will join the company in April and will report to the COO, Greg Winn. Balfour is reportedly leaving her post as CIO of Qantas Airlines, where she currently serves as CIO, in March. Vish Padmanabhan, who most recently served as CIO of Telstra, will become the telecom company’s deputy CIO under Balfour.
