Gerald (Garry) F. Kelly Jr. (pictured at left) was appointed to the board of directors of Footstar, a footwear retailer that emerged from bankruptcy earlier this month. The former Sears CIO, who was ousted when Sears merged with Kmart and Kmart’s CIO, Karen Austin, was named CIO of the combined company, currently serves as interim CIO of United Airlines.
Sue Unger, DaimlerChrysler’s SVP and CIO, was honored with the Automotive Hall of Fame’s Distinguished Service Citation on February 12, 2006. The award recognizes men and women who have made “significant contributions” to the auto industry.
