Skype Offers Web Calls Minus PC Connection
In the past, users of Skype’s Web phone call service had to use an Internet-connected computer to place calls.
A new product offered by VoSKY allows users to employ a landline to make calls to regular phones over the Web at a discounted rate via the SkypeOut service, or to other Skype users free of charge, The New York Times reports.
The VoSKY Call Center is now available at the company’s website, and it retails for $69.95.
Call Center functions with Windows PCs when a user connects it to a landline phone. The system also has the capability to forward Skype calls to different phones and send a notification alert when specific users sign on, The New York Times reports.
Users can even connect Call Center to their home phone lines so calls from anywhere can be routed to the Internet by simply phoning home, according to The New York Times.
