On Thursday, Microsoft announced that it has selected Frank H. Brod to be the company’s new chief accounting officer (CAO) and a corporate vice president, according to an April 13 Microsoft press release.
The appointment is effective May 1.
Brod most recently served as The Dow Chemical Company’s corporate vice president and comptroller, where he oversaw the firm’s global accounting activities, according to the release.
“Frank brings to Microsoft great talent and skills both in finance and business leadership,” said Chris Liddell, Microsoft’s chief financial officer. “His work in creating world-class finance organizations and leadership in the finance community will build upon Microsoft’s existing finance talent and functional experience.”
Brod is currently a member of the Financial Accounting Standards Board’s Emerging Issues Task Force, and he is the immediate past chairman of Financial Executives International’s Technical Committee on Corporate Reporting, according to the release.
On top of his duties as CAO, Brod will oversee corporate controller functions for Microsoft, as well as financial planning and analysis, and corporate services.
