Opera 9 Browser Released Wednesday
Opera made the final version of its newest browser, Opera 9, publicly available on Wednesday, and it includes a BitTorrent search feature as well as a handful of additional extras like currency converters, The Register reports.
Opera also claims to have improved the security functionality of its new browser, with improved pop-up blocking capabilities and a toolbar designed to identify and prevent phishing attacks, according to The Register.
Opera 9 can launch wherever a user left off, and it employs a “trash can” to keep track of closed tabs or pages, The Register reports.
Jon S von Tetzchner, Opera’s chief executive, said, “For Opera 9 we worked hard to push the limits of what people expect from a Web browser, with increased speed, new Web standards support and innovative features,” according to The Register.
