Jeff Jordan, president of online auctioneer eBay’s PayPal unit, on Thursday announced that he will step down from his position at the online payment firm to dedicate more time to his family, CNNMoney.com reports.
Jordan, who has been an eBay employee since 1999, was seen by many as a possible heir to current eBay Chief Executive Officer Meg Whitman, according to CNN.
Rajiv Dutta, the current president of Skype, a voice-over-IP firm eBay purchased last year for some $2.6 billion, will replace Jordan, CNN reports. Dutta is a relative newcomer to Skype, having relinquished his post as eBay’s chief financial officer only a few months ago, according to CNN.
Skype’s vice president of products, Alex Kazim, will take over for Dutta, and eBay also selected a new president of its eBay International unit and a general manager for its comparison shopping service, Shopping.com, CNN Reports.
