Sorry We Don't Support That

With Microsoft about to end support for Windows XP, what would happen if other industries did the same?

The most frustrating reply from a customer service representative has to be: "Sorry we don't support that anymore." Whhattttt??? It is right up there with those car salesmen who say, "What can I do to get you in this new car today?"

It is just maddening to have a question about your operating system only to have an operator continually say to you that he can only help you if you upgrade. So this got me wondering, what would it be like if other industries followed suit.

2010 Dodge Grand Caravan.

Mechanics: Sorry we don't service any cars before the 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan.

Hair stylist

Hair stylist: Oh no, I am sorry we no longer cut anyone's hair who still has a beehive.

bell bottoms

Retail: Sorry we can't sell you anything because you still wear bell bottoms.


Seamstresses: I cannot repair that suit, it is so 2002.


Electricians: Sorry I cannot repair that knob and tube system you have. I am going to leave it as is so your house could catch fire.


Firefighter: Sorry, your house is too old for us to save.

regular gas,

Gas station attendant: Sorry we no longer provide regular gas, you must find a car that takes unleaded. OK sure this did really happen.


Banks: The penny is just about worthless, I am sorry but we cannot take it. You will have to upgrade somehow to the nickel.
