The HyperJuice 2 external battery for the MacBook/iPad/USB is the most advanced battery for Apple MacBook laptops, iPad tablets and USB devices, according to its manufacturer. It packs 100W of power under its sleek aluminum housing, and the HyperJuice 2 comes with two USB ports that can be used to power two iPad tablets while also charging a MacBook.
The HyperJuice 2 gives the current MacBook Pro 13-inch with Retina screen roughly 11 hours of additional battery life, according to the manufacturer. And the HyperJuice 2 provides 24 hours of battery life when connected to a single iPad. It's also relatively light at just 1.6 pounds.
In my experience, the HyperJuice 2 holds its charge extremely well; it retained more than 95 percent of its capacity when placed for two to three weeks on a shelf. The OLED screen is easy to read, and it provides detailed battery information including percentage of power remaining, temperature, and the amount of time left to a full charge or, when in use, full discharge.
The HyperJuice 2 looks great, but the panels on both ends are actually made of plastic, not aluminum like the rest of its chassis, which means they're easy to scratch. My review unit quickly developed scratches after being briefly stowed in a bag with other gadgets.
The HyperJuice 2 does not work with standard laptops, only MacBooks. The external battery is also designed to recharge USB devices via its two built-in USB ports. And when it's connected to a MacBook, it acts as an external power source only when the laptop is powered on.
The MagSafe Airline adapter must be seperately purchased.

HyperJuice 2 Conclusion
To use the HyperJuice 2 you need to purchase an Apple MagSafe Airline Adapter. (Apple filed suit against the HyperJuice manufacturer when it cloned the MagSafe adapter in an earlier iteration of the product.) That means that you have to spend an additional $50 to make the $300 product work with your MacBook. Desptie its hefty price tag, the HyperJuice 2 is a quality, no-compromise external battery that adds significant battery life to your MacBook and other portable USB gadgets.
