Google Glass Explorer Edition Pops Up on San Francisco Craigslist for $6,500

Even though it's totally against Glass's terms of service, a brave citizen of the San Francisco metro area is selling the product.

A lot of people were confused at the seeming randomness of who Google picked for the privilege of paying $1,500 to get their heads into the Google Glass Explorer edition. But for those who can't wait until Google decides to release Glass to the masses early next year, the Internet has come to the rescue.

Even though it's totally against Glass's terms of service, which explicitly states "you may not commercially resell any device," a brave citizen of the San Francisco metro area has placed an ad on Craigslist offering their Google Glass Explore Edition for $6,500. That's a few-thousand dollars above "retail" value.

The ad claims it is only for pick-up ("no shipping"), so just for those who are in the area. It goes on to describe how you can "be one of the first to start using Google Glass! Comes brand new, still unopened in its original box. The frame color is shale, which is similar to grey."

According to my associate Armando Rodriguez, who has gotten his hands on a Google Explorer edition, the photos on the ad appear legit. But that doesn't mean it's a) functioning, b) not stolen, or 3) not already bricked by Google (and would probably be in the future).

So, as with all things on Craigslist, it could be legit, super sketch, or somewhere in between.
