Meet HitchBOT, the Robot That's Thumbing its Way Across Canada

The hitchhiking robot is part of a social experiment to see if drivers will transport the robot (safely) to an art gallery in Victoria, British Columbia.

An anthropomorphic robot, aptly named hitchBOT, is hitchhiking across Canada. Although, to be fair, it’s far more "hitch" than "hike".

The robot is part of a social experiment to see if strangers will help hitchBOT complete its 3,700 mile journey from Halifax to Victoria, British Columbia.

Now at the halfway point, here are some photos from its journey so far.
