Logitech on Tuesday unveiled its first rechargeable, wireless keyboard—dubbed the diNovo Edge—and the ultra-thin device is expected to be available in the United States starting in November for $199, according to an Oct. 3 press release on BusinessWire.com.
The diNovo Edge was designed with style and functionality in mind—with a thickness of only three quarters of an inch—and it’s made of shiny black Plexiglas and situated in an aluminum frame, according to the release.

In addition to its Bluetooth wireless functionality, the diNovo Edge keyboard features a built-in touch pad scroll panel, called the TouchDisc, which enables users to navigate general interfaces without the use of a mouse. TouchDisc is designed to function with PCs running on Microsoft’s Windows XP, Windows XP Media Center Edition or the upcoming Windows Vista operating system, according to the release. A special start key on the keyboard launches Vista’s start menu, and an F-key is set to bring up Vista’s search functions.
“The diNovo Edge is the most beautiful and elegant keyboard we’ve ever made,” said Denis Pavillard, vice president of product marketing for Logitech’s keyboards and desktops, in the release. “The diNovo Edge delivers a premium experience in every way, from how it looks in the office or living room, to how it feels and performs in the hands of its owner.”
The keyboard is meant to be used with Logitech’s MX Revolution Cordless Laser Mouse, as well as its Z-10 2.0 Interactive Speaker System, which features an orange backlit display and glossy black finish to match the diNovo Edge, according to the release.
PCs with built-in Bluetooth connectivity can link directly to the diNovo Edge for a wireless range of up to 33 feet, and PCs without Bluetooth technology built in can be equipped with the keyboard’s included USB micro-receiver for functionality.
The keyboard comes with a sleek charger-stand that can provide up to two months of battery life via a two-hour charge, according to the release.
