No, Apple isn’t at Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona teasing its iPhone 8 and Samsung isn’t formally unveiling its Galaxy S8, but plenty of other big name vendors are using the annual wireless network confab to show off their latest and greatest Android smartphones. Lenovo Moto G5 and G5 Plus

These budget Android 7.0 phones, respectively, have 5- and 5.2-inch LCD screens with Full HD 1080p resolution. Their sturdy aluminum back plates give them the look and feel of higher end Moto Z phones, whereas earlier G series models were plastic outside (see a Greenbot editor go hands on with the new Moto G phones here). Lenovo boasts of 2800 and 3000 mAh all-day batteries and rapid charging, and the Plus includes a more powerful Snapdragon processor than the regular G5. Google Assistant promises to take a load off your more mundane tasks as well. Only the G5 Plus will be sold in the U.S., starting at $230 in March for a version with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.

TCL BlackBerry KEYone

Yes, you read that correctly: BlackBerry is coming out with a new smartphone, by way of TCL Communication, and it’s slated to be available in April. The KEYone, which had been known as the Mercury early on, is a throwback in that it has a physical keyboard with raised keys but also doubles as a touchpad. TCL says the device is aimed at professionals but also at consumers – not specifically to be used just at work. The KEYone runs Android 7.1 with added security, has a big 3505 mAH battery and a fast-charging mode. It will be priced at $550.
