October 15, 2008 — IDG News Service —
AccessKenya, Kenya's first publicly listed ICT company, will achieve a projected 50 percent to 60 percent growth in 2008 given the increased uptake of technology services in Kenya.
The company has recorded strong performance this quarter in its corporate Internet, residential Internet and IT services divisions, said Jonathan Somen, AccessKenya managing director.
"Despite the general economic gloom around the world and at the Nairobi Stock Exchange, we are pleased to confirm that things are 'business as usual' at AccessKenya, with continued strong growth in all three of our core business units," he said.
In the current financial period, Somen said AccessKenya has invested in sales and marketing, customer service, infrastructure and human resources as it benefits from enormous growth in Kenya's ICT sector.
