9. Printers
With current technology, consumable costs quickly outstrip hardware, so there's little reason to stick with older, slower printers. Consider giving many users an inexpensive all-in-one printer/scanner/copier for more convenience and faster printing.
For this story, I tried HP's Officejet J6480, at under $200, and liked it a lot. It offers automatic two-sided printing, a good multipage document feeder for copying and scanning, and wireless connectivity that eliminates cabling issues (especially nice with laptops) and simplifies printer placement.
