Cisco and HP Branch Out

Cisco and HP recently had separate but simultaneous rollouts of branch office products designed to accelerate application delivery and performance from the data center to the remote site.

Cisco's 4500E Ethernet switch line gets an upgrade that doubles per slot bandwidth to 48Gbps. Overall system capacity is now 848Gbps, taking it past the higher-end Catalyst 6500.
