Network World — Nothing livens up the work day or gets HR's attention better than a good old office prank. Here's a collection of some of the best, or worst, depending on your perspective.

Cubicle to Cottage

When a co-worker went away for business, the rest of the office teamed up to give his working space an extreme home makeover. By the time they are done with it, the improved cube has a mailbox and functional ceiling fan.

Prank YouTube Video

An unsuspecting employee opens a link to a to a YouTube video of a dot moving through a maze. Just when they started concentrating on the video, an image of Linda Blair from The Exorcist pops up. Needless to say, not a pleasant experience.

Surprise Meeting

When you exit a Porta Potty, the last thing you expect is to walk out to anything different than the same setting as when you entered. While those being pranked were in the portable toilet, a prop office was set up outside, featuring a long table with a meeting in progress. Confusion ensues.

Labatt Blue Golf Balls

Featured in a Commercial for Canadian beer company Labatt, this office prank could possibly be the most frustrating on the list to clean up. While one employee is in the office, two co-workers fill his car with golf balls. Quite a tedious prank to set up, well worth the reward.

Missing Hallway

Possibly the most intricate prank on the list, these pranksters covered a hallway entrance in their office building with drywall to make it look as if the hallway had never been there in the first place. The video shows the priceless reaction from the company’s CEO.

Bathroom Switch

While job applicants are in the interview process, the pranksters set up a bathroom with the door to the bathroom being the door the interviewees used to enter the room. When trying to leave, they are encountered by a man on the toilet who then throws a roll of toilet paper at each of those being pranked.

The network infrastructure market has evolved rapidly, from one in which most organizations adhered to a single-vendor architecture to a more business-driven network architecture that increasingly uses a multivendor, best-of-breed approach. Gartner research found there is no operational advantage to maintaining a single-vendor approach; therefore, analyzing the functional and financial differences between vendors is key for building a network that best fits business requirements. This white paper reviews the enterprise networking market dynamics and reveals Gartner's recommendations on how to proceed.
As you know, everything is mobile, connected, interactive, and immediate. Enterprises are turning to the Cloud to improve business agility, reduce expenses and accelerate business innovation. Cloud computing redefines the way IT assets are deployed and consumed and dramatically affects the way data center networks are architected and managed. Conventional hierarchical data center networks built to support traditional IT architectures can't meet the security, agility and price/performance requirements of virtualized cloud computing environments. This white paper reviews the impact of cloud computing on data center networks and describes HP's approach to building simpler, more secure and automated networks that fully meet the stringent performance, security, reliability and agility demands of the new data center in the Cloud.

When AlertBoot switched to the cloud it needed a load balancing solution that would support its migration and prevent as much downtime as possible. The company chose Riverbed® Stingray™ Traffic Manager to use while transitioning its infrastructure to an entirely virtualized environment. The move was a complete success, at one-third the cost of comparable hardware solutions.
Online airline and travel group Meridiana fly needed a faster, more cost-effective way for its growing customer base to book reservations online. They turned to the Riverbed® Stingray™ Traffic Manager, which ensured a fast, responsive website that could cope with increasing high-demand. The company's pages now load much faster, and downtime is a thing of the past.
Supply chains require the ability to connect and share information with vendors and partners globally. EDI networks have made this connection possible by allowing various entities to upload information for others to see.
Today's workforce is truly mobile. At the office, from customer sites, even at home or in a hotel - their connectivity and application performance needs remain the same. But even though their requirements don't change, the challenges in meeting their expectations do.
Traditional communication methods are no longer sufficient to meet the pace of business today. Video Conferencing is an essential business tool. Dimension Data is revolutionizing the process of doing business and making video conferencing fast, simple and affordable.
