Computerworld UK — WWF International has signed a cloud-based infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) contract with Carrenza to support its wildlife charity operations.

WWF International said it was looking for a new solution for its "complex and wide-ranging IT needs" after "being forced to move from its existing data centre by its previous supplier".

To support its worldwide operations, the charity needed a web platform that was capable of hosting up to 60 international websites for its operations in various countries around the world.

Carrenza already supports other charitable organisations such as Comic Relief and Age UK, as well as high-demand ecommerce sites.

Jeff Thomas, head of technology and applications at WWF International, said: "Carrenza has a strong presence within the not-for-profit sector. In partnership with Carrenza, we look forward to developing our IT platform in response to our evolving requirements."

Carrenza will use an Amsterdam data centre to serve WWF International. As well as web hosting, WWF International will benefit from central IT services being hosted, including its Active Directory and Google Search Appliance systems.
