NFL Teams Up with Extreme Networks in a Bid to Create Digital Stadiums of the Future

Techworld — The NFL (National Football League) today announced that it has partnered with US networking firm Extreme Networks in a bid to better understand how American football fans are engaging with Wi-Fi networks at stadiums across the U.S.
As the official Wi-Fi analytics provider of the NFL, Extreme Networks Wi-Fi analytics technology will be available to all NFL teams to help them manage and leverage big data to improve the game-day experience.
Extreme Networks claims that its Wi-Fi analytics technology provides near real-time visibility into what fans expect from their in-stadium experience, thereby enabling teams to more easily deploy new applications and services to deliver a better experience.
Sports clubs already using Extreme Network's Wi-Fi analytics technology to monitor and measure what fans are doing online include: Detroit Lions, Philadelphia Eagles, New England Patriots, and New York Giants/New York Jets.
NFL CIO Michelle McKenna-Doyle said: "Enhancing the fan experience is one the NFL's top priorities and the decision to team-up with Extreme for Wi-Fi analytics is a great step forward in achieving our goals.
"We were impressed with Extreme's implementations with the Patriots and the Eagles and we believe this agreement will help our clubs deliver on the high standards we have put in place to give our fans the type of experience they deserve."
Financial details of the partnership were not provided.
