MetroPCS surprised everybody when it launched 4G LTE service in September (in Las Vegas), becoming the first wireless carrier in America to do so. They also came right out of the gate with an LTE handset--the Samsung Craft--shirking the common carrier practice of releasing a USB card first and a phone later on. OK, so the Craft isn't the best smartphone in the world, but it was first LTE phone to become available in the U.S.
