One way Best Buy uses this tool is to examine customer behavior at a macro level and anticipate trends in future purchases. The company is then able to optimize product placement in its stores and create product bundles. For example, if Best Buy knows a customer is likely to buy a certain set of headphones after he purchases a specific laptop, it may offer the two products together, resulting in fewer return visits for the customer and better overall satisfaction.
