During the past five years, enterprise data has expanded from 5 terabytes to 250 terabytes. To utilize this data more effectively, the company deployed a business intelligence solution that used several commercially available applications to integrate performance management information (in the form of dashboards for managers) with transaction data. Usage of the system has nearly doubled every quarter since it was deployed in 2006. Eventually all 1,600 employees will have access to the system.
