- Project Description: To help them understand electricity demand prices, JEA deployed "smart" meters that record customer usage data more frequently than traditional meters and integrated the data with systems used to manage outages and forecast demand. Customers get more accurate bills and when outages occur, JEA can pinpoint the cause and restore service faster. Customer satisfaction has improved 30 percent since the Meter Data Management System was deployed, and the initiative is expected to save as much as $15 million each year.
