Partners Community Healthcare
- Project Description: While the hospitals run by Partners Healthcare System used electronic medical records (EMR) software, many of the physicians in the Partners Community HealthCare network did not. So Partners' IT organization developed a strategy to help these doctors' offices make the transition from paper-based to electronic records. As part of the strategy, Partners identified EMR products that met the varied needs of its network of physicians and provided financial incentives for them to invest in the technology. More than 84 percent of the doctors now are using or are planning to implement EMR, and Partners estimates all of its primary care doctors will be using EMR software by the end of 2008.
