- Project Description: The GAO's new Financial Audit System (FAS) provides an integrated workflow for conducting financial statement audits. The system is used to collect data and reduce analysis time. Auditors can work from any location and track their tasks and progress using real-time metrics, as well as manage staff and perform quality assurance. Among its capabilities not available in commercial products when it was developed, FAS allows the GAO to track internal control weaknesses of its audit subjects.
