2008 Winner Profile

AT&T

  • Project Description: AT&T implemented a model-driven architecture (MDA) for its Common Services Interface (CSI), the platform that retailers use to interface with AT&T's customer support, billing and provisioning systems. Use of the MDA allowed AT&T to enable iPhone customers to activate their phones from home. In addition, new vendors can be on-boarded to the system in approximately 25 percent less time than before MDA was implemented. These new business partners can handle more activations and upgrades in a shorter period of time. In December 2007, CSI processed more than 1.4 million activations and more than 1.2 million upgrades in comparison with 6,000 activations and 11,000 upgrades a year earlier.
