Taking advantage of technologies such as virtualization and autonomic computing, the on-demand partnership involved reengineering UPMCs technology infrastructure. During the transformation, the tools and processes have been refined, validated and packaged as solutions, marketed by IBM and UPMC. The initiative has saved $30 million over a three-year period.
