- Project Description: Southern Company's Georgia Power launched SelectGeorgia.net to provide corporations with a Web-based tool to investigate available properties for possible new business locations in Georgia. The tool has information on the 159 counties and 535 cities in the state as well as aerial photography and interactive mapping tools. SelectGeorgia.net has brought more than $1.3 billion in new capital investment and more than 5,800 new jobs to the state. And by moving to Web services, the economic development team has reduced related software maintenance by 75 percent.
