- Project Description: Joint Knowledge Online is an online learning platform developed to deliver low-cost individualized training to personnel from U.S. and international military commands and other partner organizations participating in joint operations. In addition to improving training efficiency, JKO allows distance learning and enables partners to easily develop new courses. With over 156,000 course completions, The platform hosts over 300 courses (1,400 hours of instruction) and has 82,000 registered users. Users have completed more than 156,000 courses. This transition from decentralized, traditional "schoolhouse" training to the online environment has resulted in an estimated cost savings of $59 million.
