2010 Winner Profile
Centro
- Project Description: Media services firm Centro created its Transis system for managing its clients' entire online advertising process, from proposals to campaigns. While the system appears to agency users as a single integrated application, Transis combines several online applications that communicate through representational state transfer (REST), a technique that exposes services as URLs that can be accessed online. Each backend process required by the system-- such as media planning and publisher collaboration--has its own application. The system reduces the hours and resources normally assigned to research, planning and administration while also tracking the latest data on ad prices and cutting down on generated invoices and orders, saving paper. The technology also allows advertising agencies to target not only the Web but also other media, such as mobile devices. Centro estimates the project will pay for itself within three years.
