At a time when companies scaled back their marketing efforts as a recession-era cost-reduction measure, Marcus & Millichap, the country's largest real estate investment service firm, revamped its marketing with dynamic Web pages for its 1,200 sales agents, plus iPhone and iPad applications and a social media campaign. The project, which was launched in January 2010, helped increase sales volume by 42 percent in the course of the year, improved lead generation by 700 percent, and quadrupled traffic to agent profile pages. Marcus & MillichapÂs mobile app was the first to allow investors to directly communicate with the agents representing them. Meanwhile, agents can use their web pages to upload all of their available listings and change the content in real time, while maintaining Marcus & Millichap's brand identity and improving search engine rankings.
