2016 Winner Profile

Hewlett Packard Enterprise

Project Description:
Hewlett-Packard (HP) was faced with splitting a $100B business into two companies in under nine months with less than two hours of application downtime. To achieve this, HP deployed a Delphix agile database migration solution to sync complete databases with compressed storage. This software helped HP eliminate data as a bottleneck throughout the separation process. This included extensive cleansing of business information and application testing for HP's most critical IT systems. On-demand access to data reduced IT cycle time, enabling the company to execute testing and development activities as its data and applications were separated from pre-split HP systems. In addition, HP was able to migrate data and many of its key systems weeks ahead of the cutover date, de-risking and minimizing the required effort during the cutover weekend.
