Chief technology officer at TalkTalk Clive Dorsman is retiring after 17 years at the company, which is now searching for a successor.

Dorsman joined TalkTalk in 1997 as the managing director of technology, seeing the organisation grow from a Manchester-based B2B voice-only service into a major internet service provider in the UK.

Dorsman also acted as chief networks officer from April 2008, leading a team of more than 500 software developers and engineers, and took overall responsibility for IT as the CTO in April 2011 when CIO David Cooper left to join British Gas.

A TalkTalk spokesperson said: “After 17 years with TalkTalk, Clive has decided that it is time to retire. Clive is one of the founding fathers of the company has has made an enormous contribution to the company.

“Clive will be leaving the company in the summer and we will annouce details of his successor in due course.”
