Leeds City Council CIO Dylan Roberts has been appointed to the UK government National CIO Council, according to reports.

A report in UKAuthority.com notes he will join Hampshire CIO Jos Creese and John Callan, head of ICT at Liverpool City Council to represent local councils at the group.

Roberts will be council member responsible for representing large city public sector concerns and the implementation of Public Service Networks in the regions.

He is quoted as saying the seat at the council gave him the opportunity to better appreciate the challenges of government departments and contribute to the provision of an integrated and consistent approach to delivering value from public sector IT.

Roberts is a former member of the CIO UK CIO100 list.
