London City Airport has appointed Alison FitzGerald as its first CIO. Confirming the appointment to CIO UK, a spokesperson for the airport operator said the post had been created afresh. Prior to becoming London City Airport’s first CIO, she held several senior IT roles at the Financial Times, rising to the post of head of service development and delivery, and CIO with overall responsibility supporting the IT requirements of all the FT’s business divisions from 2009 to 2011. Before joining the FT, FitzGerald was a senior manager for Abbey Plc for over a decade where she held a variety of senior management roles spanning service management, governance and business continuity.
