I do not believe this reflects the real nature of what technology and a CIO can do for an organisation,” said Mark Chillingworth, CIO UK Editor in Chief. Didcock stood out in amongst some leading CIOs for his transformative agenda at the low cost airline easyJet, his vision for improved business and technology processes and his close relationship with the CEO that led to the CIO running the overall organisational agenda at easyJet. “Didcock described himself as a ‘change junkie’ in an interview with CIO UK, the judging panel and I felt that this and his excellent track record placed him in the coveted number one spot against some very impressive CIOs such as Myron Hrycyk, Jane Moran and others,” said Chillingworth. The CIO 100 was created by face-to-face interviews and questionnaires to over 100 CIOs in the British economy. Questions focused on board level influence, recent technology acquisitions, plans for the next 12 months, vision for what technology can do for the CIO’s organisation, as well budget, management and IT work force sizes.
