Takes on chief digital officer role Credit: Getty Images Syed Ahmed has been appointed chief digital officer for InnoWell, a joint venture between The University of Sydney and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) that has built a digital platform aimed at transforming the mental health system. In his new role, Ahmed will be in charge of the product, engineering and data teams. “As if it wasn’t enough that I’m in a role that consolidates my professional interests, I get to do so in an organisation that leverages deep, truly world-class clinical research to deliver a sophisticated digital platform for mental health treatment,” Ahmed wrote in a LinkedIn post. In his two decades journey in the IT landscape, Ahmed has worked across different roles including software engineer, software development consultant, enterprise architect, strategy and architecture, senior manager of technology, principal consultant and business technology strategist, as well as head of business technology and head of digital delivery. He worked for companies including financial services provider Perpetual Limited, real estate Servcorp and also health insurance provider Bupa. As head of digital products and operations at Bupa, Ahmed was in charge of Bupa’s “customer-led” transformation, which included The Blue Room, a content destination hub supported and amplified by social channels Ahmed also had a short stint at RACV where he was head of digital and member experience operations in 2018.
