Credit: Defence Health Former Defence Health CIO, Simon Reiter, has joined large super fund VicSuper as its new head of information technology. Reiter, who featured in last year’s CIO50 list, has replaced chief technology officer and CISO, Sandra Barns. Reiter is reporting to chief executive officer, Michael Dundon. Reiter’s appointment comes just four months before a July 1 merger between VicSuper and First State Super that will create Australia’s second largest profit-to-member super fund. It will manage $120 billion in retirement savings for more than 1.1 million members. Reiter is a seasoned technology executive. While at Defence Health, he led the rollout of an Oracle core platform that resulted in an organisational-wide transformation program to uplift its core insurance, digital customer experience, data and robotic process automation capabilities. Prior to Defence Health, Reiter was business engagement manager at Court Services Victoria, head of information technology at City of Playford, and ICT infrastructure manager at SA Health. CIO Australia is seeking comment from VicSuper.
