Aon has appointed John G Bruno as its CIO and Executive Vice President of Enterprise Innovation.

Bruno will begin his new role for the British multinational provider of risk management, insurance and reinsurance brokerage, human resources and outsourcing on September 1, sitting on the executive committee and reporting to President and CEO Greg Chase.

CFO and Executive Vice President Christa Davies said: “John brings to Aon world-class technology skills and a passion for using technology to transform businesses.

“He will lead our efforts to deliver the infrastructure and innovative technology solutions necessary for our business units to more effectively serve clients. He also will drive increased collaboration across our businesses to support Aon’s growth strategy.”

Bruno has also served as Managing Director and Vice President of Information Technology at Goldman Sachs, as well as holding senior technology leadership roles at Merrill Lynch and Cisco.

With around 65,000 employees in 500 offices worldwide serving 120 countries, Aon was the shirt sponsor for Manchester United from June 2010 until the end of the 2013-14 football season, but still has deal with the club involving the renaming of the side’s training ground and sponsorship of the club’s training kits.
