Transport for Londonis gearing up to sign an extensive range of framework agreements, covering IT services for itself and other high-profile local bodies.

The SAP-based organisation expects that up to £70 million worth of services will be procured through the agreements over the next four years. Suppliers have until 12 February to demonstrate their interest, and are required to have strong experience in information management, as well as IT implementation, support and consultancy.

Under the framework agreements, services will be available to a range of other bodies, through TfL. Those bodies include the Greater London Authority, all London borough councils, the London Development Agency, the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority, the Metropolitan Police, the British Transport Police, the Olympic Delivery Authority, the London Pension Fund Authority, and the City of London Corporation.

The main services to be procured are project management, business analysis, functional requirement gathering, information management system definition and development, data migration, integration, testing, datacentre hosting, managed services, web development, networking and customer relationship management.

Work is divided into four lots, including system implementation and consultancy, which are split into SAP and non-SAP work, given TfL’s extensive usage of that supplier’s enterprise resource planning software. The other two lots are datacentre hosting and managed support.

The system implementation and consultancy lots include project management services and system integration, data migration, business analysis and change management, software development, testing and training. The datacentre hosting will affect an undisclosed range of TfL’s applications, from niche programs to enterprise software; and the managed support lots involve service and capacity management, and testing.
