Plumbing and building materials trade distributor and supplier Wolseley has appointed Alex Rammal as its Group IT Director as the Reading-headquartered organisation drives through a wider range of technology led business transformations.

Rammal, who started at Wolseley in August, is responsible for the organisation’s IT architecture strategy and shared technology services in his Group role and reports to CIO Tony England. Rammal added: “We are looking at opportunities to assist the business through the continuing use of modern architected technology solutions to drive value.”

Rammal joined Tata-owned luxury car manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover in 2011 as IT Portfolio and later Business Relationship Director. Reporting to CIO Jeremy Vincent, Rammal was a key player in an exciting period of technology leadership at the midlands car manufacturer, with Rammal directly involved in reducing the number of applications Jaguar Land Rover used and helping the organisation adopt cloud technology and Google Apps.

“I’m very excited to be joining Wolseley, a company with a real understanding of the benefits that technology can provide,” he added.
