A workshop to brain-storm Socitm development options, including its role with regard to professionalism, was held at the Friends Meeting House, in Euston.

Representatives of PARN (the Professional Associations’ Research Network) facilitated. This was a productive day, and we achieved consensus on a number of important matters, such as the society’s role, its values, organisation, ethical code and member representation.

Adrian Hancock (Socitm’s Operations Manager) also met, yesterday, with the Director-General of SOLACE (Society of Local Authority Chief Executives) which undertook a review similar to the one we are engaged in, and has since gone from strength to strength, to learn from its experience.
