Adam Gerrard said he will be helping “shape the business for the digital age” in his new role as CIO at delivery company Yodel.

Starting his new role at the Hatfield-based business in June, the former Global CTO of LateRooms.com was recognised in the 2013 CIO 100 for helping launch the LateRooms brand on a global scale following a stint at car hire company Avis.

“I will be leading the development and execution of a new technology strategy, in turn enabling the delivery of the overall business strategy,” he told CIO UK.

“At the heart of this will be moving the business into a more digitally focused way of working. None of this can be achieved without a great group of people, and therefore a key objective of mine will be to establish, lead and inspire a high performing technology team to deliver against our commercial objectives.”

Gerrard was the focus of a CIO profile interview in May 2010 when working as Group CIO for Avis, having joined the car rental company from his role as head of IT Thomas Cook in November 2007.

Twice recognised in the CIO 100 for his work at Avis and LateRooms.com, Gerrard was on the judging panel for the 2014 edition of the list.
