Rico Logistics hires IT leader

Rico Logistics is the latest distribution organisation to hire a new technology leader as the sector increasingly looks towards IT to deliver a competitive advantage. Rico has hired George Kyriatzis as Head of information Technology. Yodel has recently hired former Avis and LateRooms.com business technology leader Adam Gerrard.

Rico, part of the TVS Logistics Services group since 2012, operates in 12 European countries and India from 38 locations in the UK and Ireland.

In a statement Kyriatzis said “the use of smart technology is a growing area, which will help our business partners”. CIO of logistics rivals DX recently told this title the technology offering that a logistics company has is becoming instrumental in its retention and winning of business.

Kyriatzis joins Rico Logistics from the vendor world, having spent his recent career at Annata UK which developed Microsoft based applications for the automotive industry. He has experience of the distribution industry having been technology leader for Saracakis, an importer of vehicles in Greece.
