Hilton hotels book in new CIO

Hilton Hotels Corporation, the global hotel chain. has hired Robert Webb as its new CIO from financial information providers Equifax. Webb moves from Atlanta to Beverly Hills to take up his latest CIO challenge, where he will report to the Hilton president of global brands and commercial services Paul Brown. Webb has been CIO at Equifax, who rival Experian in the personal credit and financial information market, since 2004. At Equifax he has been responsible for IT strategy, enterprise architecture, information security, the technology infrastructure and outsourcing. Before joining Equifax Webb was CIO of the commercial finance, consumer finance and energy services arm of General Electric. Like many CIOs Webb’s career has included a stint as a management consultant, serving in Europe, China and Japan with Anderson Consulting and EDS. Hilton has 3,300 hotels around the world now with 550,000 rooms available to guests in 77 countries. It is also the owner of the famous Waldorf Astoria chain of hotels.
