CIOs and senior IT professionals are invited to register for CIO UK’s upcoming event on ‘Developing a data-first strategy’ featuring expert speakers from Channel 4, the Food Standards Agency, Microsoft and Datalytyx.

The half-day morning event takes place at the 5-star W London Hotel in London on Thursday 26 April. Including breakfast and a networking lunch, topics to be discussed include moving beyond cloud-first to data-first, opening up data silos, setting up a data science capability, Big Data innovation and enabling data sharing in a secure environment, and whether your organisation needs a Chief Data Officer?

The event will feature four speakers on the following topics:

  • Sian Thomas, Head of Data, FSA– Sian will be discussing Open Data strategy and information governance at the FSA.
  • Sanjeevan Bala, Head of Data Science at Channel 4– Sanjeevan pioneered the harnessing of Channel 4’s viewer data for commercial and creative purposes. He will be discussing setting up a Data Science Capability at Channel 4.
  • Alex Montgomery, Azure Application Innovation Lead, Microsoft UK– Alex currently leads the Azure Application Innovation business for Microsoft in the UK. He has a background in business applications and helps customers drive transformational outcomes through the use of technology. He will be discussing data-driven Systems of Intelligence.
  • Fernando Martinho, Chief Technology Officer, Datalytyx– With 19 years professional IT experience, Fernando has led digital transformation programmes with omni-channel strategies aligned to digital strategies to drive accelerated growth. Martinho will be speaking on the subject, if you’re not data first, you are data last.

Panel discussions and audience participation Q&As will enable delegates to discuss democratising data science, Open Data and the latest innovations in data management.

Hosted by CIO UK editor, Edward Qualtrough, the event includes breakfast and lunch, along with ample opportunity for networking.
