Research for the 2013 CIO 100 began this week. The re-launch of the CIO 100 earlier this year was widely welcomed by the CIO community and we plan to continue our focus on those CIOs really transforming organisations. Zoe Dowsett, who played a pivotal role in researching and creating the 2012 CIO 100 is back on the CIO team and will be sending out a detailed survey of 25 questions to business technology leaders across the country. Once again the panel of judges, including some new faces for 2013, will be looking for CIOs that have a transformation vision, track record and passion. We are looking for business technology leaders who not only embrace and apply technology, but can take that ‘make a difference’ attitude of a technology leader to the wider business. The current number 1 Trevor Didcock, CIO at easyJet owns the corporate Turn Europe Orange transformation programme, technology is just one part of this programme. The 25 questions will enable the CIO 100 judging panel to understand the size and nature of the technology environment in your organisation and the role technology and the CIO take in leading business transformation. Everyone involved in the judging process takes great care over the course of each year to meet and understand as many CIOs as possible to get an insight into the transformations taking place. By heralding those CIOs transforming their organisations I hope to demonstrate the benefits the CIO role offers organisation. The CIO 100 is intended to be a tool that helps CIOs, but also organisations more widely. For the 2012 CIO 100 visit: www.cio.co.uk/cio100 and if you feel you should be considered, do contact me.
